Zimbabwe: Zambian Teams for Bob 91 Tourney

THREE teams from Zambia are expected to spice-up the Bob 91 basketball tournament which is set to take place next week at the City Sports Centre in Harare. Last year, Matero Magic from Zambia featured in the tournament and this year they will be joined by Shells and Luters basketball teams from Lusaka.
Last year Matero went all the way to the final of the tournament where they lost to Zimbabwe's Cameo.
According to the event's chairman, Tendai "T Buns" Zhakata, the Bob 91 basketball tournament has been scheduled for next Thursday and Friday and around 60 teams are expected to take part in the two-day event.
The tournament will take place at four venues, including Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth and Girls High schools, with the City Sports Centre being the main venue.
The club tournament will be at City Sports Centre, while school teams for both boys and girls will play at the other three venues.
Zhakata said they are going to celebrate as they are grateful for the hard work President Mugabe has done for the people of Zimbabwe.
Zhakata said this year's tournament is more important as they will be celebrating and honouring the achievements of President Mugabe both regionally and continentally.
"We are all happy and excited. This year's tournament will be very unique and exciting for us because we are not just going to play but also will be celebrating the President Mugabe's 91st birthday, his appointment as chairman for African Union and Southern Development Africa Community.
"We have invited Zambian teams, among them is one team that was here last year and they reached the final."
