Basketball in Africa

Luanda — Seven senior females teams will start playing on 20 May in the central Benguela province the first eliminatory of Angola Cup in basketball.
The teams include Interclub (title holders), 1º de Agosto, Desportivo Maculusso, Sporting do Bié, Universidade Lusíada, Sporting de Benguela and Misto da Huíla.
The second most important competition under the aegis of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) reserves for the first eliminatory the match between Sporting Petróleos Bié and Desportivo do Maculusso.
For the same round, Universidade Lusíada and Sporting de Benguela will face each other, while 1º de Agosto will receive Misto da Huíla.
The two-leg final will be played in Luanda on 7 and 8 June this year.
