LIBERIA : LBA League: Timber Wolves upset Mighty Barrolle










Mighty Barrolle got up to a disappointing start in the 2014 Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) First Division League on Sunday as they were whipped 53-49 points by Timber Wolves.
The Rollers got up to a frustrating start against inspiring Timber Wolves at the Open Air Sports Commission on Broad Street on Sunday.
Timber Wolves who are now fans’ favorite due to the signing of some top players in the likes of Glen Nimely, Jethro Bings among others dominated the match taking the lead in the first and second quarters before the break.
The overzealous Wolves’s side proved supreme against the experienced Rollers squad as they went on to clinch their first victory on Sunday.
LPRC collected their second success in the league  as the three times champions staged a 70- 53 points win against Flames.
Oilers took the lead in the first quarter achieving 23-12 points over Flames.
The second quarter was magnificent for Flames to recover, but Oilers maintained the lead as they increased the points to 37-23 to end the first half.
Fredrick Myers three points was possible to reduce the score line 54-41 in the third quarters.
LPRC Oilers’s head Cocah Paul Houlsen said that his side is targeting the fourth championship title this season.
In the other match Heats defeated  S. Brothers with a score line of 82-30 points in game one, game two saw host Commissioners bowed to S. Sister 28-11.
In Saturday’s parings Cesstos Mogars were whipped 55-53 points as the Barnersville Side was narrowly wiped by old hands NPA Pythons.
K. Detta overwhelmingly dragged D. Queens 120- 2 points as the both clubs locked horns in game three of the Saturday’s encounters.
In the day’s first encounter, Kardinals received 20 points following the forfeits of Deviers.
Another interesting showdown was exhibited on Saturday, April 5, 2014; Fubba and Deviers lost points each for not showing up, SAC-Based battle U. Prince in game two but it was U- Prince who took the day with 45-21 points.
On Friday, April 4, 2014 B. Bull was unable to host Heats as they forfeited 20 points in game one, Fubba also refused to welcome home H. Pointers as they forfeited 20 points in game two, while Dream Team II saw Flames defeated 56-48 points at home in the day’s last encounter.v
The LBA National League continue Tuesday with another interesting matches in game one, Deviers will host G. Blazer as Kirdinals anger B. Bull in game two of the league.
