KENYA : Sigalame Beat Mundika to Win Arunga Tourney

EMMAH Okello posted 20 points as Sigalame beat Mundika 43-33 in an entertaining annual Mike Arunga basketball tournament final at St. Peter's High School, Mumias on Sunday. Andrew Ghangi added 12 points for the victors while Kaka Mabior and David Ouma scored 10 points apiece for the losers in an all Busia county affair. The rivalry between the two teams is now set to spill to the Busia county school championship later on next month.
Sigalame had earlier beaten the hosts Mumias 39-20 while Mundika defeated defending champions Musingu- 46-28 in their respective semi-finals.
In the quarters, Sigalame beat Booker Academy 49-10; St. Peters Mumias beat Malava 29-16; Musingu hit Kibabii boys 29:19 and Mundika beat Silungai 47-05. The event attracted 12 teams. Mt Kenya University, Kakamega beat Bungoma Sonics 54:38 to win the clubs' category.
Mt Kenya had earlier defeated Busia Raptors 49-28 while Sonics beat Mumias Snapzters 65-18 in the semi finals.
Action heads to St. Bridgid's High School, Kiminini and Kitale Technical Institute this weekend in the third series of tournaments sponsored by Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) western branch.
