KENYA : Lions and Ulinzi Warriors set to clash in exciting league duel

Lions and Ulinzi Warriors are set to clash in a surprise Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men’s Premier League fixture this weekend.
Both teams got the sudden cut-throat fixture from the KBF officials in the course of this week.
While Lions will be seeking a third straight win for the season in the match, Ulinzi will be out to get their maiden win after suffering a heavy defeat against Kenya Ports Authority (100-70) on an away fixture in Mombasa last month.
Lions who won their two fixtures against Nairobi Aviation and Blazers said they are leaving nothing to chance for the wounded Ulinzi.
“Right now we are perfecting on our rebounding and also working on our defensive skills. We are out to win this match,” said Ancette Wafula, Lions captain.
Lions who still have no sponsors, were this week blessed by a volunteer doctor. Ulinzi coach Eliud Nzioka initially had written to KBF to postpone the fixture terming it unacceptable but having left with no option he has decided to tackle the Lions head on.
“I am encouraging my charges to psyche up, we lost our season opening match but this one we will strive to win,” Nzioka said.
Ulinzi did not sign up any new players for the season and coach Nzioka is optimistic some of the old players will come back to link with the club in the course of the league.
