NIGERIA : GT2000 Eye Top 4 Finish

Kaduna based GT2000 basketball coach, Oche Omuh has revealed his utmost desire is to finish the league among the top 4. He revealed this yesterday after his club beat Customs of Lagos 43-37 points as the first phase of the league observes a rest day today.
He said his team is only a win away from finishing 4th in the first stanza. "We have won three matches and a win away from finishing 4th which will put us in a good position in the second phase.
We want to finish this phase among the first 4 and maintain same position at the second phase in Asaba and qualify for the final 8 playoffs.
What have kept us going are self belief, determination and good support from certain people. We entered the league late where almost all the teams had registered but had to believe in ourselves to do well. That is our secret."
He said he built the team with only five girls and one of his best players Nancy was lost to the Police team after a delay on registration. "I had only one month preparation with the girls because we started a bit late.
Because of late registration the Police team snatched one of my girls Nancy. I started the team with only five girls and resolved to work with what I met on ground.
They were girls that played at the National Sports Festival in Lagos. I really appreciate what the girls are doing," he said.
Action in the league will be off today with hostilities set to commence tomorrow before the phase 1 final action on Saturday.
