KENYA : Kenya basketball league to go live on SuperSport

The 2013 season of the Kenya Basketball Federation league kicks off this weekend with eight matches in Nairobi and Mombasa.
Basketball fans and players will be excited by news that SuperSport could broadcast selected Premier League matches this season with the first matches expected to go live on Friday 19th of April 2013 if the ongoing talks sail through as planned.
This will be the first time for Kenyan Basketball League to go live on SuperSports joining The Kenyan Premier League (soccer) and Cricket league that enjoys massive coverage on specially designed SuperSport channels for the East African region.
Once the talks are concluded the Live matches could be played at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani gymnasium that also hosts a bigger crowd compared to the smaller Nyayo stadium gymnasium.Sources suggest the first matches could be aired on 19th April if all goes according to plan.
Cooperative Bank of Kenya and Eagle Wings won last season’s league for the men and women respectively with United States International University-Kenya finishing second in both categories losing to the winners in the finals.
The full weekend one fixtures as follows:
Div 1- KAA vs. Little Prince (9am), Umoja vs. Terror (10:30am); (Nyayo Gymnasium)
Women Premier league - Co-op Bank vs. Safe Spaces (12:00pm), Storms vs. KCA -University (1:30pm), NYTA-Shimba vs. Western Delight (2:00pm);
Men’s Premier league - Mennonites vs. Blazers (3:00pm), Thunder vs. Co-op Bank (4:30pm) KPA vs. MMUST (4:00pm)
