RWANDA : Lady hoops lose to Cameroon

Fiba-Africa Women championship

First match
Rwanda 69-35 Guinea
Second match
Cameroon 45-42 Rwanda

RWANDA felt hard-done after yesterday’s 45-42 defeat at the hands of Cameroon in their second match of the 2011 Fiba-Africa Women Championship in Bamako, Mali.
There was little to separate the sides in the first half as they drew 14-14 in the 1st quarter and 28-28 in the second quarter.
Rwanda went ahead in the third quarter 33-30 before losing the last quarter 9-15.
It was a step back for Coach Amaovic Nenad’s side that got their campaign off to a good start after Saturday’s 69-35 win over Guinea.
“We switched off in the final quarter but overall, I think we played well,” a defiant Nenad said.
Twelve teams are in contention and they include 2007 winners and hosts Mali, two-time champions Nigeria, Guinea, Rwanda, Ghana, defending champions Senegal, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Ivory Coast and Angola.
The teams are divided into two groups with Mali, Ghana, Tunisia, DRC, Ivory Coast and Mozambique in Group A. Senegal, Nigeria, Guinea, Angola, Cameroon and Rwanda are in Group B.
