RWANDA : Tunisia too good for Rwanda

Tunisia 69-37 Rwanda
CAR 82-57 Togo
CHAD 57-89 Morocco

RWANDA’s rustiness was on full display last evening as they succumbed to a disappointing 37-69 defeat at the hands of Tunisia in their second Group D game.

The North Africans proved that their third place finish two years ago in Libya was no fluke, sweeping all four quarters (10-09, 17-07, 19-09 and 23-13).
Tunisia’s shooting guard Macram Romdhave led the floor with 20 points and six rebounds while Mohamed Hadidane and Amine Rzig weighed in with 10 points each. Kami Kabange top scored for Rwanda with 12 points.
The win left Tunisia joint-top with Central African Republic (CAR) on four points. CAR had earlier thrashed Togo 82-57 thanks to Max Kouguere’s 24 points. William Kossangue had 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals while Guy Kodio-Sitchi contributed 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and one assist.

This means Monday’s clash between Tunisia and CAR will determine who finishes top in the group.
