WHEN the stakes are high, the last scenario any coach would want to have is players deciding to strike.Because of this, Falcons will have to negotiate their FUBA basketball match against KIU today without six of their stars currently on a sit-down strike.

The six foreigners Mike Bazangu, Bienvenue Ngandu, Cedric Sinarinzi, Karim Nkusi, Didier Gahorani and Albert Lukumba, who were signed at the start of the season as replacements for Stephen Omony and the Malinga brothers, claim Falcons have not paid them for the last six months.

Falcons’ patron John Ssimbwa argued: “We were supposed to meet with the sponsors but it was not possible last weekend, however, we shall clear them soon.”
Ssimbwa further explained that; “No one is bigger than the club so this cannot stop the club from playing games especially now that we are approaching the play-offs.”
Falcons will face an entirely different KIU side from the one that made it to last year’s play-offs.

KIU Coach Nimrod Kaboha lost six first-team players including Michael Kariuki and Orom Makmot, who currently with Warriors.

Kaboha reasoned: “I am building for next year. I will also recruit other players into the team.”
