KENYA : KCB Lions continue sterling run with 12th straight win

National champions KCB Lions roared c to a 73-52 win over University of Nairobi "Terrorists" in a premier league clash at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.

The bankers led 35-24 at the break and despite going down 22-16 in the third quarter, still did well for a 19-9 adge in the last. Tobias Onyango nailed 16 points, Victor Odendo and Yoni Wanambiro eah added 12.It was their 12 straight win.

A day earlier, the campus lads beat Java warriors 64-61 in a closely fought tie. Theytrailed 6-18 in the first quarter before taking the second 22-17 but itwas not enough to give them the edeg at the end of the first half as they went down 28-35.

But after resumption, Mike Opinya and Humphrey Mbande exerted pressure that saw Java collapse as they campus lads took 16-11 and 20-15 edge in the last two quarters. Opinya nailed 21 points and Mbande added 16. For the Warriors, it was Ian Wena whode 16 and Dn Imbali scored 14.

In one of the most lopsided results f the league this year, leaders Eagle Wings humiliated
University of Nairobi "Dynamites" 105-21 to hang on to the top of the women's standings.

The victors, who have only lost one game whe they went down 47-48 to reigning champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in Mombasa had a sttrong game all through as they raced to a strong 29-4 and 27-7 advantage at the break.

Rebecca Sarange scored 16 points and Caroline Achieng posted 14. For the bemused varsity girls, Sylvia Omolo and Redmpta Achieng were the stars as they bagged six points a piece.

At the Menengai High school courts in Nakuru, Nakuru Club beat World Hope 117-97 in a highly competitive division one tie.
