NIGERIA : Comets beat Bullets 77-69 in warm-up game

As organisers of the Lagos City league put finishes touches to the commencement of the 4th edition of the league, teams have begun to test their readiness for the league as former Nigeria Premier League Champion, Ebun Comets basketball club handed down a 77-69 points defeat to 2007 third place finisher, Kennys' Bullets in a friendly game at the Indoor of the Nigerian Air Force Base Thursday.

Thursday's match is the first between both side since Bullet's defeated the Coach Ayo Bakare tutored side to the third place in the 3rd edition of the City league last year.

The friendly battle was played over five quarters with Comets winning three of the quarters (Q1: 14-11, Q2: 17-15 and Q5: 15-11), Bullet's had the fourth quarter under its grip with a narrow 16-15 points win while both sides shared the third quarter with 16 points apiece.

At the end of the energy sapping encounter Bullet's coach and former Comets and Nigeria International point guard, Ogoh Odaudu praised his players for putting up a fight against Comets.

He, however, promised that the team wll be ready for action before the commencement of the league.
'I am pleased with the performance of the my players today (March 20) and I can assure Bullet's fans and board members that the team will not disappoint when the league finally dunks-off,' opined the coach popularly refered to as man-of-wisdom in his playing days .
