KENYA : Teams all set for the starting event of the year

Premier and Division One league teams are set to battle in next weeks Pre Season tournament slated for Ruaraka.

This event, the first under the newly elected KBF office is expected to draw a full house according to fixtures secretary Joseph Amoko. The draws and courts allocation, he said, will be done at the venue at 9 am.
The teams, led by giants Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Lions and Co-operative Bank of Kenya will use the two day event to gauge their strengths as well as introduce their new signings for the year.
"I have already given out all the invitations. The signs are good that we will have a good turn out as the players are itching for the season to get underway." Amoko told SportFest yesterday.

In a related development, Posta and World Hope have vowed to make it all the way to the Premier League in only their first year. The two teams were promoted fom the Naironbi Basketball Association (NBA) Provincial League.

Coaches Ronny Owino and George Namake coccured that they have the players that are capabe of propelling the teams from the lower division to the top in a year.
"I can tell you that we will make it all the way to the top and we want to do it easily." noted Owino while Namake, the league oldest tactician, said that "I have lined up four new players to beef up my squad and this should help my course." said Namake
After the Pre-Season tournament, teams will then return to strict training as they fine tune their players ahead of the league that is scheduled to throw off at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium in two weeks latter.

Meanwhile, Owino who is also a FIBA coaches instructor have been nominated by the continental body to conduct an Olympic Solidarity Coaches course in Lusaka, Zambia. He was in Swaziland last September to conduct a similar course.
