STREET Basketball tournament is underway and will take place December 26-27 at Amahoro courts, Time Sports has learnt.

According to the co-Organizer, Honore Twagirayezu, the event is mainly for promoting the youth thought Streetball and publizing basketball among the population.
"The game is quite different from the usual basketball because there are fewer rules in Streetball than there is in the normal," Twagirayezu said adding that apart from fighting there is no strict rule in Streetball.
Twagirayezu, however, said that the plan is to make the December event beautiful and more attractive.
The tournament is officially being organized by Contact FM and will replace the previous Sprite Ball event which ceased sponsorship from Sprite two years back.
Contact FM wants, according to Twagirayezu, to make the event an annual one.

The event will include AND1 matches, dancing contests, and Clash or rapping contests among others.
The tournament is usually for youths between 21-27 years but in developed countries but this one will host players from 18-27 years old.
The players will be given prizes in every discipline and an overall prize on the dominating team.
The co-organizer said that companies willing to promote their products are welcome at the event.
