ANGOLA 2007 : Cameroon stops Cote d’Ivoire 76-56

Cameroon has qualified for the semi-finals of the 24th FIBA Africa Championship beating Cote d’Ivoire in grand style with as much as 20 points margin.

The Cameroonian team who came to Angola by providence overwhelmed the Ivoires in the first quarter with 20-10 points, but lost the second quarter to the coach Monclar Jacques tutored Cote d’Ivoire side by 20-13 points for halftime scores of 33-30 points.

From the third quarter the Paul Biya men look unstoppable as they rattle the Ivories beating them comprehensively (22-11 and 21-15) for a cumulative score-line of 76-56 points.

Cameroon guard, Patrick Bouli recorded 17 points, 3 rebounds and one assist, forward Gaston Essengue added 16 points 7 rebounds and one assist, as guard Joachim Ekanga had his name on the scorer's sheet with 15 points and 2 rebounds while the duo of Luc Mbah and Brice Vounang contributed 12 and 10 points respectively with Mbah leading the entire floor with 7 assists.

Cote d’Ivoire Ismail N’Diaye led his teammates with 15 points, 2 rebounds and one assists, the Florida University forward recorded 50% from the two point's field goal area 66.7% in three point's field goal and 62.5% from the line, while JDA Dijon Bourgogne basketball club of France guard Souleyman Diabate added 11 points and 3 rebounds.

With this hard victory Cameroon will now met Egypt in the semi-finals in the first semi-final on Thursday.
