NIGERIA : Zenith League: Dolphins Go Wild on Customs

After a day of tears following the surprise defeat Dolphins ladies suffered in the hands of Sunshine Angels on Monday, the Dolphins player have continued to hit their opponents hard and high with the 100 mark as seemingly set target.
In the third match of the Zenith Bank Female League played in Asaba yesterday, Dolphins defeated Customs 100-75 following the Tuesdayís 114-69 mauling of AHIP ladies. The results have kept Dolphins still in the second position on the table behind First Bank who took the lead from the first circuit that ended in the Abuja a fortnight ago.
Before that match, Sunshine defeated AHIP 70-61 as the Akure based ladies battle to upstage the Customs team from the top four bracket. The match between First Bank and Dodan Amazons ended 65-54 in favour of the Bankers whose firm grip of the top position has clearly been tested in Asaba.
Today the AHIP ladies have the chance to celebrate if they able to shock the Amazons who defeated them in Abuja as both teams playing the opening match. The game appears quite opening for the taking although the pundits give the game to the Amazons. The next game at 2.00pm is between Immigration and Sunshine with the latter as clear favourites. The Nigeria Immigration ladies hold the unenviable record as the only team yet to win a game in the league. The star match is the third one between first placed First Bank and Dolphins who are second on the table. The match has become quite difficult to predict following the pattern of results from Asaba since the championship began last Friday. Whichever direction the result goes, it is expected to produce a lot of highlights and quality performance. The final game is that involving the Customs and Delta Force who are playing before the home fans. A win for the Customs will pass as an upset under the current dispensation.
The second circuit rounds off in Asaba this after as the teams prepare for the trip to Lagos for the final stage. The teams are expected to travel straight to Lagos from Asaba with championship starting Sunday at the Sports Hall of the National Stadium.
