By Gloria Kyomugisha

KIU 92
Miracle 83
Gulu Hawks 75
Livingstone 60

CHAMPIONS Nkumba-Marines lived up to their billing when they maintained top position on the FUBA rankings. It was the second year running that the Entebbe-based side came out top.

Falcons, who were last top in 2004 when they won the league title, dropped to fourth place after a 69-61 third-place defeat by Warriors last November.
Marines also topped the ranks in 2006, five months after rankings were introduced by the games ruling body.
The rankings, which are used to determine seedings at local tournaments, are based on the results of the past year with extra weight given to the national league.
The strength of the opposition and the nature of the competition are also considered, with tournaments and league matches earning more points than friendly games.
Elsewhere, Zone V basketball president Morris Aluanga has requested Rwanda to consider hosting the East and Central Africa Club championship in August, in case Burundi falls out.
He said logistics like the 24-second shot clock, which Burundi do not have, might deter them from hosting.
