TWO basketball players yesterday left for South Africa to take part in the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) programmes.

Zambia Basketball Association (ZBA) general secretary Mwembe Kaona said the two players, Given Kalipinde of NAPSA Hurricanes and Chibwe Chibangu of Lechwe, left for the five-day camp that will be conducted by American basketball stars."This is a good opportunity for them to be exposed by coming face to face with NBA (National Basketball Association) stars who they will ask questions and learn from," Kaona said.

He said the idea of the camp is to expose the players to life and leadership skills and also to help them in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The BWB Africa Camp runs from September 6-10 in South Africa Some of the NBA stars that will lead the mentor of the African players include Dikembe Mutombo (Houston Rockets centre) and back-to-back Most Valuable Player Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns guard).
