KENYA : Blazers whip Outsidaz in NBA tourney

Blazers beat Outsidaz 63-49 at the Railways Club, Nairobi, on Saturday to move to the top of the Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) league standings.

Joel Atebe nailed 17 points, while Ken Keya contributed 12 to lift high riding Blazers over unbeaten Runda.

They have 21 points, while Runda are now second with 20.

Kenya Polytechnic beat Catholic Dream Team 69-40 to move to fourth place with 17 points.

Samuel Ocholla hit 20 points, Hillary Omondi 15 and Lameck Onyancha 14. Brandon Ouma had 16 for the losers.

Trail Blazers had 21 points from Joshua Vuva and 20 from Steve Okwako as they beat third placed Langata Crusaders 53-52. Reuben Ndede shot 16 for the losers.

In the women’s matches, Mennonites went past Kenyatta University "Oryx" 44-36. Florence Mbithe made 12 points and Penina Nthenya 11.

Lucy Shiko had 11 for KU. CDT had 16 points from Dora Achieng and 15 from Quinter Ramogi in a 58-30 defeat of Nairobi Pentecostal Church (NPC), who had 11 from Yvone Musyoki.

In other matches, Team Jam crushed Yassets 64-37, Outsidaz hit Catholic Dream Team 65-59, while Kenyatta University Oryx nipped second-placed Nairobi Pentecostal Church 35-31.
