WOMEN league giants Kampala City Council (KCC) Leopards beat Makerere Sparks 25-16 to grab Shs70, 000 in the 4th edition of the Miracle BC Challenger series tournament played on Saturday.

Inspired by former Sparks stars Agatha Baliddawa, Becky Akullo and Miram Hamara, the Mayor's daughters reversed the one point loss to the 2003 MTN league champions in the preliminary round and put their tactics right in a final which Sparks trailed all the way.

Olivia Mulwana had a double three pointers of her 8 points, but Hamara made 10 while Monica Siima and eventual MVP Becky Akullo added 5 and 4 points respectively to ensure their first title of the season.

MTN league champions A-I Challenge had been eliminated after losing to Sparks and KCC, in a tournament that featured the ladies for the first time.

The men's final was marred with fighting between Power Captain Marvin Keronga and Crane High's Steven Okias. Crane High had eliminated UCU in the semis while Power beat Miracle.

The women winners and runners up got Shs70, 000 and Shs40,000 and the men won Shs100,000 and Shs50,000 respectively, while MVPs walked away with Shs30, 000 each. John Jacob from Miracle Center Church was guest of honour and handed over the prizes to the winners.
